Humpier

I remember that summer in the Balearic Islands, as if time had stood still between Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.

The Mediterranean stretched out before me, and in its hidden coves, under the sun, I found a free and naked beauty that seemed to spring from the earth itself.
The women there, as much a part of the landscape as the rocks and the sea, moved with the same freedom as the breeze.

Now, in another time, I am still trapped in that summer.
Each canvas I paint takes me back to those shores, to that light, to the salt in the air. I try to capture what has already vanished, as if I could revive it with each brushstroke… but in the end, all that remains is a whisper of what once was.
