"Two Souls" is a co-production by Humpier44 and Hav Surfboards that tells the story of the close collaboration between shaper and surfer during the surfboard production process. It explores how a handcrafted piece created in a workshop is directly translated into the surfer's performance in the water.
The soul is the central piece that unites the two parts of the board. It becomes the bridge between these two kindred spirits, transmitting the shaper's energy and passion to the surfer with every wave. It's the conduit that links the surfer's body movements with the shapes crafted by the shaper.
In this case, our collaborator Pablo Bordas put us in touch with Juan, the shaper in charge of all HAV production. The moment we spoke with him, we learned about his methodology and fell in love with his workshop. Nico Pina helped us with the workshop footage, Pablo went to film with Diego on the Basque coast, and the rest is history. With a fantastic edit by Guille, impeccable color grading by Celia, and top-notch voiceover by Gus, we put together this short film that captures the best of both worlds in two minutes.
