Uniraid, a rally for students, and from there, Jaime Infante and I, Álvaro González, have been in the February 2020 edition representing the "Chilling Riders" team.
Two friends, students of Industrial Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, met four years ago at Deusto University Hall of Residence. After forging a close relationship, living together, apart from creating a close friendship, sparked a desire to travel and discover new places and cultures. Hence, as soon as the idea of this charity rally came to us, we didn't hesitate to prepare and execute it. Uniraid is a nine-day rally through the Moroccan desert in passenger cars over 20 years old and without four-wheel drive. In our case, we drove a 1990 Peugeot 205 (30 years old), aiming to deliver a minimum of 40 kg of charity material to the desert villages we encountered along the route. This adventure is unique in that it's aimed exclusively at students between the ages of 18 and 28. The goal of this experience is to increase their teamwork and personal growth, as several stages are completed independently with only a compass and directions. They have shared the entire experience daily on their social media channels, allowing their followers to participate. The main goal of this adventure is to transport as much charity material as possible and thus bring smiles to every child they meet along the way. With this, we want to thank both Jaime and Álvaro for the help and collaboration from all our sponsors, and specifically Humpier, since without them none of this would have been possible. |
